A version was recorded by Al Hirt for his "The Horn Meets The Hornet" album. Sadly, I don't think this album was released as a CD, but the vinyl comes up from time to time on eBay.

I remember listening to "The Horn Meets The Hornet" as a child at my friend's house. Funny how things like this are coming around over 50 years later....

Lalo Schiffrin did it. IF you do a search on YouTube for 'Cat +Loggia' you will find am episode of the show broken into three parts ("Sponsored by Winston!"), and 3-4 minutes into the first segment you'll find the theme song, which is too cool for school even after 40 years. I was 13 when this show came out, and I remember Thomas Hewitt Edward Cat, and the club he used to hang out at ('Del Gato'), and the cop with the missing hand played by RG Armstrong. Way cool show. Way cool.

I've had a wonderful evening - but this wasn't it.
