Big continuity error in "Assignment: Earth"

By "big" I mean really noticeable.

In "Assignment: Earth", Gary Seven is wearing a dark-colored suit when he is questioned (about his identity) by the Beta 5 computer. (He's annoyed by the machine's "snobbery".)

The episode then briefly cuts back to the Enterprise for a quick dialog exchange between Kirk and Spock, then immediately goes back to Seven's office, where he's still talking to the Beta 5 computer...

Only now he's wearing a completely different, light-colored suit.

That's right! I remember that too! I think when I saw it I probably thought that the reason for the clothing change was because enough time had gone by for him to wear different clothes.

I'd seen the episode a number of times over the years, but oddly, didn't notice Seven's suit change until this most recent viewing.

I suppose one could say he changed suits during the Kirk-Spock scene aboard the ship, but it doesn't really make sense in terms of the narrative that's presented. Seven is obviously still engaged in the same conversation with the Beta 5 computer he was having while wearing the (different) dark suit...

Why change jackets for no reason?

You're right. It doesn't make any sense. But I'm such a big fan of the late, great Robert Lansing that I'm so happy to watch his performance, continuity be damned.
