Great filk song

Filk is a fannish (that is fans of SF, fantasy, horror, etc.) folk song. It is called filk because in an early fanzine "folk" was misspelled as "filk." Fans ran with it, taking it as their own. There is a large fan base of filk songs and at most conventions filk circles, concerts, and programming are all very popular.

Filk is a genre of song associated with science fiction and fantasy. Not all Star Trek, but that's the most common and, I believe where the name comes from. It originated at conventions and is exclusively fans made up songs, often but not exclusively, to the tune of some familiar song.
