Shatner will be 90 early next yr.

He might outlive us all.

I always thought that it was sad that he and Leonard Nimoy never really reconciled before Leonard passed. Leonard was apparently mad at Bill Shatner for filming him without his knowledge and permission for his "Captains" documentary.

reply

William Shatner is perhaps quite morbidly, becoming the Betty White of science-fiction. At least though, George Takei, Walter Koenig, and Nichelle Nichols are fortunately still with us for the time being but they aren't exactly getting any younger themselves. And had they lived, then DeForest Kelley and James Doohan would've been at least 100, and they were the first major cast members to pass.

reply

It's about time he died, a death is due from the TOS cast.

reply

I can't see Shatner going anytime soon, he appears unusually healthy. and is shrewd (so is the type to keep safe, monitor his health etc).
I fear Nichole isn't in good health these days. and Walter is looking abit fragile

He's also looking abit on the frail side lately (and he always looked the most fit and healthy out of all of the cast). I could totally see Shatner being the last of TOS standing (just as hed want it)

Well, I suppose that he wasn't lying or exaggerating when he said to Spock/Nimoy and Bones/Kelley in Star Trek V that he knows that he will *die alone*!

reply

Ironically in star trek lore Kirk was the first member of the 7 bridge crew to die - Spock was alive after Nemesis before ending up the Kelvinverse, Bones was still alive in Encounter at Farpoint (although may have died before Kirk did when he emerged in the 24th century), Scotty was obviously alive and well for a good few years after Relics, and I guess we can assume Sulu, Chekov, Uhura may have still been alive around TNG/Generations era (as were a good deal younger than Bones) and therefore outlived Kirk
