what about the 1981 series

what about the 1981 series?

In two words, THEY SUCKED. HB made new episodes of Jonny Quest, The Jetsons, Space Ghost, and the Herculoids in 81 but they couldn't capture the spirit of their originals. Even Gary Owens reprising his voice role as SG didn't help.

Well, I liked the 1981 versions, as well as the originals.

Check them out and make up your own mind.

Eh, there were a few god ones here and there (more there than here) but they didn't hold a candle to the originals. I remember first catching Space Ghost in a rebroadcast, paired with the Herculoids, rather than Dino-Boy, and thinking they were the coolest thing since Jonny Quest. Then, the Space Stars show came along and it was all a bit of a letdown. It was missing that Alex Toth touch in the design, and a spark in the voice work. The stories were kind of bland, too. I do remember enjoying the episode where Space Ghost meets Space Specter, his evil twin.

Whether the show sucked or not is not what is important.

I have all the 1981 episodes but can not find any information of it on IMDB at all whatsoever.

Is it because it is not listed or I should look something up other than "Space Ghost".

I would like information on the show for archival and trivia purposes.
Until I got the episodes I did not even know another series of it existed.

Are you talking about the ones with the lame laugh track behind them? They run on Boomerang sometimes as interstitial programming.

It was part of the Space Stars tv show, not a series unto itself.

And for those who do remember and want them, the Warner Archive has said it is one they do intend to one day release. However nothing is known of when it will happen other than it will be in the original format.

I refuse to argue on IMDB until the general populous actually uses their brains

Warner Archive will be previewing their upcoming (don't have a date) release at the Sand Diego Comic-Con (aka Comic-Con).
