How come this only lasted 2 seasons?

Somebody told me S1 got great ratings...don't know about S2.

I was very very young when it was on TV, but among schoolboys it was a sensation.

Was it ratings?

Injuries on the set?

Parents concerned about violence?

Show costing too much in comparison with revenue? (F-Troop syndrome)

I watched an ep not long ago, and I agree with those who say this show doesn't hold up well.

I believe the problem was that it was up against The Lucy Show on Monday nights and Lucy usually won her time slot each season, with the possible exception of her first.

It was also up against Laugh-In on NBC.

So basically, it was basically a disposable show that they knew would fail because of the time slot they put it into. Some developer of the show pushed too hard, and the network decided he'd return a favor by approving it for a season. The when the ratings tanked (as he knew they would), he could cancel it with a clear conscience. Happens all the time. Look at all the great shows that wind up being cancelled because of what time slot they get stuck into, and what other shows they have to compete against.

Because it was *beep*
