The New Adventures of Superman Coming To DVD This Summer

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is: WB is planning to release some episodes of the New Adventures of Superman to DVD this summer in late June. There will be a featurette called Superman in 66 and the price will be $26.99.

The bad news is: It's not the entire series. It is reported that there are 36 episodes. Now there were 60 or more of Superman and it looks like this set will not include Superboy. I'm guessing it may be the first 36 episodes from its 1966 run.

This along with the New Adventures of Batman from 1977 is being released on DVD late this summer.

It's not much but it's a start and hopefully, maybe it might lead to future releases with the other Superman episodes along with Aquaman and the 1968 Batman series as well as Superboy and the JLA cartoons.
Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Cheers.

I am a fan of these Filmation cartoons of Superman, Batman, Aquaman, the JLA, etc. I have heard similar information about the release you mentioned. I have some of these episodes on the "Super Powers" VHS, but not all of them.

I have seen on the 'net, that you can buy bootleg DVDs of these cartoons from certain websites, but you have to be concerned about the quality.

I hope that one day ALL of these cartoons are restored to their original form and issued by WB.

When I was a kid, in the 1970's, the local UHF stations would re-run these shows, in their original form from 1966. They were fun shows that gave these comic book heroes "life".
