Things I've learned from watching M:I

In the Mission Impossible universe, many things are different from the real world. I've started a list of these things. Please feel free to add to it.

1) A firm tap between the shoulder blades is enough to render a man unconscious.

2) Shooting a person produces little or no blood, nor does the bullet create a hole in the victims shirt.

3) No matter how secure a vault, prison, or other room is built, there is always an air vent big enough for a man to easily crawl through. It is usually fastened to the wall with only two screws with easy access.

4) There are dozens of Eastern Bloc countries where everyone speaks english (but with an accent) and the countryside looks just like Los Angeles - palm trees and all.

5) Locks can be picked in less than five seconds and never require turning the cylinder.

6) Alligator clips are the most important piece of electronic equipment you'll ever need.

7)The capital building in most MI countries looks a lot like the Pasadena, California city hall.

8)That when attending a mission briefing, all female IMF agents can wear only black, white, or a combination of both colored clothes.

9) If you become the leader of a country that has good relations with the U.S., the IMF has to let you know that your best friend is secretly trying to kill you.

10) Foreign currency is always made of cheap, thin paper and looks more like Monopoly money than the real thing.

11) I don't know if Barbara Bain can sing in real life, but Cinnamon Carter sure can't. The season 3, episode 24 ("Illusion") cabaret act was cringe-worthy.

reply

Cinnamon was doing a Marlene Dietrich impression in that episode. I thought she was great.

This post was deleted because it had to make the aspiring dictator of San Cordova that it could make her look ten years older.

reply

I just realized that I put my last post on the wrong tread. Sorry.

12) Barney's fingernails are always dirty. I don't know if it's because he's the one who has to do most of the manual work or if he just has poor hand hygiene.
