The Robot

I was watching that episode today and during Jim's instructions, the voice tells him, "We've known for a month that the country has an imposter as the ruler, and that the real ruler has been dead for a month and the fake will be leaving in 2 days giving all of his power to a total evil mad man". If the government knew for a month why did they give IM Force only 48 hours to correct the problem? And that's not the 1st time the government came to him on short notice. That got me thinking maybe Jim and his crew work better under the gun. Any thoughts?
