OT: RIP Mike "Mannix" Connors gone at 91

Rest In Peace Mr. Connors

There are some great photos of the cast of Mannix playing basketball against the cast of Mission: Impossible, in the Patrick White book. Both Paramount series filmed during the same time period. The M:I crew never managed a win!

TAPS for Mike Connors

From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest.

They have just started playing it in order from the start on MeTV and I missed a couple at the start, it's different than what I remembered but pretty good and different types of stories than most P.I. shows.

If I dismember correctly, Star Trek, Wild Wild West, Batman, Mannix and Mission Impossible were all be shot right next to each other. That's one of the reason you see a lot of the same guest stars over and over again.
Vaya con dios Mike.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Conners. Did you guys know that John Hurt died?

reply

Yes, I saw it today, when I was watching the TV show, Sunday Morning. He was great in Alien and where he's parodying himself in Spaceballs. I could go on and on with all his great roles, but my personal favorite was The Elephant Man.

John Hurt was also terrific in the Hellboy movies and in I, Claudius. This is a horrible year, and it's only January!

His 1st screen appearance was in the movie, A Man For All Seasons.

I just remembered that I actually have that DVD, so I'm going to watch it again. Thanks for the heads up.

Mr Hurt was a lovely man and lived quite near to me.

Did you ever get to meet him?
