As I remember this was real popular with kids. Was it a bad time slot? I don't think it was a good idea to bring the cave people back to the future.

shareMy brother and I (kids then) loved the show and were very disappointed when it went off the air. It was a great time slot as we weren't allowed to stay up late on school nights. Bringing the cave family back to the 1960's was done to raise the ratings.

shareIt was a "gimmick" show that ran against Walt Disney and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. That, and I don't think Ed Sullivan could have been too thrilled to have this as his show's lead-in.
shareI was 7 when this show came on, and I loved it!!! After all these years I can still sing the theme song. I remember being so disappointed that it only ran one season.

I mean, if Michael Caine can make JAWS 4, well, I think that says it all. Sometimes these people just take roles for the money.
