Green Hornet's methods of operation.

I am a fan of the Green Hornet, though I'm curious about his methods of operation if they fit the definition of lying.

Since lying is defined as:

telling or containing lies; deliberately untruthful; deceitful; false: a lying report. Synonyms: deceptive, misleading, mendacious, fallacious; sham, counterfeit

Though both the police and the general public believe the Hornet to be a criminal, Reid uses that perception to help him infiltrate the underworld, leaving behind for the police the criminals and any incriminating evidence he has found.

Does his actions constitute lying since he deliberately misleads the criminal bosses and the police with the perception that he is acting outside the law?

reply

Lying? Absolutely. He sure as hell isn't telling the truth. His methods rely totally on being dishonest and deceitful. If the GH were honest, he'd never be able to get the better of those criminals.

The GH is unethical, and he fights dirty. But he deals with people who are themselves unethical and who fight dirty. He's dealing with other liars. Two wrongs make a right in his world. The GH isn't a clean-cut, do-good type of hero. His methods are darker than those of other crimefighters.

He wasn't that dishonest on the show. How did he exactly lie? Give examples of him lying.

I don’t understand what you’re asking me. I didn’t expect you would need examples, because you said this:

When I answered your post, I was just agreeing.

Examples happen on every show, because on every show, he misleads the criminals about what his real intentions are.
