Would three orphaned kids (including two girls, one who is a teenager) be sent to live with their bachelor uncle and live in man Friday?
shareNot necessarily...... I heard about a young man around 24 having custody of his 3 nephews because his sister wasn't able or capable of taking care of the kids and I've heard nothing but good things about this guy.

shareRight after the death of their parents the three were separated and lived in different households, presumably all relatives. Buffy was the first to be taken to her uncle Bill by her "Aunt Fran." Fran and Bill were on a first name basis so they seemed to have known each other. I've never been clear if Bill and Fran were related. Fran took Buffy to Bill partly because Buffy didn't get along with Fran's husband. I have never been clear about the circumstances of Jody and Cissy going to Bill at about the same time except perhaps a desire to reunite the siblings.

If I remember, the aunt who had Jody living with her found out that Buffy was living with Uncle Bill in his fancy New York apartment and decided to send Jody there so the twins wouldn't have to be separated any more. And I think Cissy just showed up right after Jody so I'm guessing whoever she was living with was thinking the same thing about the kids being together.
Not this exact story but there is a guy who is the undersecretary to Condi Rice at Dept of State who is in a similar situation with his two nieces from Illinois.
shareToday I met this exact scenario. He has a niece and a nephew and a female helper to help take care of his kids. He works for the Dept of Defense in some capacity.
