Where in New York City did they live?

I know the show was filmed on a set in California, but they do show the exterior building. I just wondered which part of New York City it would've been located. They routinely go to the park, would that be Central Park?

The actual exterior building they show is located in Westwood section of Los Angeles on Wilshire Blvd. . My guess is that their residence in the story line would be Manhattan and the park would be Central Park.
