All of Kls characters so far(I'm up to Rachel Drummond) are constructed by the the writers to be be the sweetest things to walk the earth. Concerned with, helpers others, exuding gentleness, touching everyone she meets with kindness she crosses paths with.

Kls is such an easy target for villains on DS for because of these upstanding qualities she's unsuspecting and walks right into sticky situations laid out by villains when she is trying to help poor souls in need. And she gets pummeled by villains at every turn.

She also at every decade if you look back at her images aged so gracefully looking great as the years go by.

Also at her blonde period looks like in her early 40s she really resembles Jane Pauly.

As I understand it, she was originally going to play Samantha in 1840. I can't imagine KLS playing such a nasty character.

Maggie Evans was somewhat nasty and crass in the first episodes (even though she meant well). She became Miss Purity as the show progressed.

I started @210 where Hulu begins. I'll watch the first 200 down the road I hope.

I agree, Julia. I'm to the part where she's starting to like Joe, and she seems to be softening a bit. I like Maggie and Joe sooooooooo much better than Carolyn and Joe who never seemed suited for each other IMO.

Lainie, Carolyn and Joe would have made an attractive couple if Carolyn wasn't so spoiled, catty and crazy. (Let's face it, she had a bizarre crush on Uncle Roger!) Whenever she mistreated poor nice guy Joe it made me cringe. Sure, Carolyn was pretty. But, oh so b*tchy!

The softening of Maggie was a better move for the entire show. Maggie became one of its pivotal damsel in distress characters. She became much more refined than the awful crass blonde waitress offering some worldly advice she was in the beginning episodes. Thank goodness!
