German Winnetou films inferior......

In my opinion the German Winnetou films are all far inferior to the East German films about Native Americans that starred Gojko Mitic. The landscapes and the obvious naivete about which Indian nations were located in what regions, and their appearance and customs are nil in veracity...The East German films were much better.
I used to think some of the Hollywood westerns had awful Indians in them,..but many of them in retrospect were pretty good compared to thes terrible Winnetou films and the awful Euro version of Last of the Mohicans. Maybe if more Native Americans saw these travesties of their culutres they'd have a better opinion of some of the Hollywood product they pan so often. At the very least they are usually in the correct setting.
