Being that this was 1966, I kind of brushed off the back cover of the DVD speaking of how graphic the sex and the hara-kiri scene were. (To tell you the truth, the sex scene was still tame for me, but I wasn't prepared for that hara-kiri scene...which was, IMO, more grapic than the scene in Takeshi Kitano's 'Brother')...

I didn't expect it to be so gruesome. The connection with Mishima's actual death is therefore even more disturbing.
