This movie has never been banned in Norway

On the trivia section for this movie, one reads the following: "Banned in Norway because of a scene where Peter Sellers tries to commit suicide by burning himself wrapped in a Norwegian flag."
Who came up with this story? It is a propaganda tale.

I have written to the IMDB staff time and again, in vain. The truth has obviously a hard time sinking into their sculls, so I am reapeating: This movie was never banned in Norway.

Hopefully the rest of you will get the message.

Don't write to them, change it. Go to the trivia page, click the "Update" button at the bottom of the page, mark the entry for "Delete" and give your explanation, and submit it. I'd do it myself, but I don't have first-hand knowledge that it was NOT banned in Norway. If I can do a little research and find that you are correct, then I will have a published source to back me up. You, however, have personal experience behind you.

But that's exactly what I have been trying, again and again. I click the "update" section, go to "delete" and give my explaination. They just don't seem to buy it. It is as if they think I'm just kidding (or on some ideological mission). I tried for the last time some weeks ago. It's still there.

I was more successfull in removing the same incorrect information from Wikipedia, (it no doubt got there in the first place thanks to the trivia section on IMDB). It's just sad when you can't trust the information from IMDB.

It just takes a while for updates to process. The item you speak of is no longer there.
