Glad I saw this float by on the MC banner ... I'd forgotten about this movie

I remember it as being a pretty good movie ... from a long time ago. I will have to see it again to see if my memories are correct.

I watched it again not too long ago, and for me it really holds up well. The only weakness is James Farentino, who seems too contemporary, as if dressed for a costume party. Everyone else seems of that harsh, unforgiving, honor-bound time.

I just tried to find it on Amazon Streaming ... it is not there, even to rent or buy for a price. That always bugs me. There is a lot people do not understand about our history, especially ancient history. DNA studies begin to show how common certain genes are throughout the population. The say in Asia that many the gene of Genghis Khan are spread all over the place, and this was the case in the Warlord when nobles were able to spread their genes all over the place.

I do seem to recall an image of Farentino looking like his costume was too large or didn't fit him, and too clean, like no broken in or something, but not sure I trust my memory on that.

I see that the DVD is out of print & going for an outrageous price at Amazon. For me, it was sheer luck to find a copy many years ago, when Blockbuster & Hollywood Video stores were closing down forever, selling off their stock for just a dollar or two each. It's too often the only way I can see old favorites these days.

I used to have a huge DVD collection, and CDs too but I massively downsized. I still have too many, but I bought a few of those folders that hold 500 disks and got rid of all the boxes and artwork.

I'm running into storage space problems myself! But in some cases, tangible media is the only way to be able to see a beloved film whenever you want. Sad that as streaming increases, the choices available for older films becomes smaller. And if they're not available, then who will ever see them & make them desirable again?
