not a goof or a plot hole but when the train is taking water, and the kids are on the bridge calling the germans names and throwing rocks at them, Im sure the kids would have know the terrible things the germans have done so would a bunch of kids be dumb enough to do that????
shareEven with many horrible things done, the german soldiers were not the hollywood maniqueistic monsters with ice heart and psychopathic tendencies. They knew the conquered population was not happy, they knew they were angry. If they didn't do anything more drastic like shooting the train, they wouldn't simply go on a rampage of mindless murdering civilians.
Even if you do believe that the soldiers were all brainless monsters, they wouldn't do anything like that without permission or order from the superior officer.
