Why did they only show this once?

My first encounter with this movie was long, long ago, when a local UHF station showed it as part of their Saturday Night DOUBLE CHILLER THEATER preseantation. Every Saturday night, they;d show a double feature of grade-B horror flicks. At the time, I only saw the last half of it, and I waited and waited for them to repeat it so I could see the whole thing (which I finally did on DVD). But they never repeated it, although they showed many other movies many many more times. I'm wondering why they never showed THIS one again, despite the fact that they showed almost every other movie they used for DOUBLE CHILLER THEATEWR multiple times. ANybody got any idea why?

They used to repeat this a coupla times a year on syndicated late Saturday night 'Creature Features' while growing up in the 70s (I think I saw it doubled w/'Horror at Party Beach' one time). Broadcast-wise, it used to be a very accessible title to catch on the tube. It has then disappeared during the height of the cable TV 80s until teh DVD age.

I first saw this in the mid 90's on TNT Movie Channel. It was on a late-night segement called 100% Weird! They would show movies that were out of the ordinary and VOTG really sparked my interests. I still watch the DVD I bought about once every couple months.

Yeah, during one segment Joe Bob Briggs misidentified Joy Harmon as Tisha Sterling, so I wrote him a letter correcting his mistake. He wrote back and gave me the "Joy Harmon Fan Club Appreciation Award" for being the ONLY MAN IN AMERICA to notice it.

I remember when TNT used to do that, but I couldn't remember if it was TBS or TNT that showed it at first......evidently it was TNT, because I only remember seeing it once around the same time too. TBS used to show crazy movies too like Night of the Lepus during the daytime, around noon. Summer break during middle school used to be so fun watching silly movies. This reminds me......I miss USA's Up All Night. Now they used to have some crazy ass movies too. LOL. God, I miss that show and how Rhonda Shear used to say the title.

I remember one of my earliest watchings was when TNT had this '100% Weird' style programming, where they would show B-movies, and whatnot.

'Village of the Giants' was part of a 4-movie marathon that night, along with 'The Cyclops,' 'The 30-foot Bride of Candy Rock,' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk.'

I miss USA's Up All Night. Now they used to have some crazy ass movies too. LOL. God, I miss that show and how Rhonda Shear used to say the title.

Too bad "VOTG" never aired on "Up All Night." Perhaps the lovely Rhonda could have been made into a giant for those segments.
