Have Always Wanted to See This Movie!

I have wanted to see this movie since I was a teenager in the early 1980's and I first read Leonard Maltin's review of it in his TV MOVIES paperback. I recall seeing a bit written about it here (I believe it may have been released on vhs in the 1980's by a small company) but some 30 years later I still have not seen this movie. I really wish there was more access to vintage foreign films here in America, not just the classics and the iconic directors but the bread-and-butter pictures and little gems as well. It's a surprise that even in the internet age most of them are still impossible to find.

If you are still vainly seeking it, you can now watch it on YouTube. It really is a treat.
The address is www.youtube.com/watch?v=boCzj5TyO1M
If you dabble around and try hard enough, you'll find almost any (not all) of the great foreign classics.

Thank you very much for the tip, I think I may have looked for the movie in the past on youtube but not recently.

The film was released in 2014 on a 2 DVD French set called "Les histoires de René Allio - Marseille", made by a company called shellac sud.

Sadly, however, there are no English subtitles for those of us whose French isn't up to speed. :-(

Leonard Maltin no longer lists this title in his "Movie Guide," but I've been wanting to see it ever since I noticed it mentioned on the back of the box for the New Yorker Video VHS release of "Drachenfutter" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092924/). In fact, it appears that New Yorker never did make this film available for the home rental video market in either VHS or DVD. This is a shame since it seems that this intriguing-looking title has never been readily available in the U.S. (although according to WorldCat.org about 30 libraries in the U.S. do own a VHS release of the film produced by Facets in 1993).

Who is Leonard Maltin?
