Jonas, this was a defining moment for me as well. Since there seems to be no english subtitled version, second best is a narrated swedish one (and Hasse Alfredsson is king)
Where were you able to buy a copy? I have searched for it, but I keep coming up with nothing. Where were you able to get one?
If anyone else knows where the Swedish narrated version _or_ one with english subtitles can be aquired - please let me know.

Unfortunately out of print since long now. Though I really recommend trying to find it second hand!
It is worth noting that the Swedish TV/VHS version is longer than the 40th anniversary DVD version. From what I read on wikipedia (see "Havoc in Heaven" article) the version that aired on BBC was also a longer version than the 40th anniversary DVD.
The version available on the 40th Anniversary Chinese DVD is shorter than all of the original released/broadcast versions because of badly damaged film print-- so quite a few jumpy cuts were made in the second part of the film, most noticeably in the comedic peach garden sequence (but fortunately not so much in the classic shape-shifting fight/chase sequence).
I think they still have the storyboards (you can see them in the Chinese DVD), etc., so it is possible to have the missing sections re-animated-- but $$$ is an issue. Shanghai Animation Studio was gradually privatised (i.e. no state funding even for "prestige projects") after the 1980's and, even though Uproar in Heaven is their top-selling product, the World/ Chinese market is already dominated by US and Japanese animation.
