Troy Donahue and Connie Stevens after Warner Bros days !

Troy Donahue's professional and personal life went downward after he was so gung ho in cutting off ties with Warner Bros.Because of the studio he became a major star in the late fifties with "A Summer Place" (1959) "Surfside Six" (1960-1962) TV series and then the early sixties with "Parrish" "Susan Slade" "Rome Adventure" "Palm Springs Weekend" "A Distant Trumpet" "Hawaiian Eye" Tv series (He joined the last year of the show 1962-1963)....He was married to Suzanne Pheshette for about six months. As Suzanne says "His hair was longer than mine and my voice was deeper than his" Troy attempted to go the bad image in movie with a trash film called "Sweet Saviour" based on Charlie Manson and his gang.He never made it big again after the Warner Bros.years........

Connie Stevens hayday was her Warner Bros years also. After "Hawaiian Eye Tv series ended (1959-1963) she went in a bizarre career move. From her beautifull films "Parrish" Susan Slade" "Palm Springs Weekend" came "Two on a Guillotine" though a lovely touching film her persona was not the same.In the film "Guillotine" we see a Connie with a new pinched nose and not much character. The mental and body change stemmed from a dis-solvement of a six year relationship with actor Gary Clarke. On the rebound James Stacy,an aspiring actor at the time fit her bill.Jim did resemble old love Gary Clarke and also to her best buddy Bob Conrad. The marriage didn't last but three years.no children from that union. Then came the famous scandal with Eddie Fisher where she wasn't even married to him when daughter Joely Fisher was born in 1967.Only when daughter Tricia Leigh Fisher was born 1968 were they married.

Remember Troy Donahue and Joey Heatherton in another '60s horror film, MY BLOOD RUNS COLD?

"In the film "Guillotine" we see a Connie with a new pinched nose and not much character."

Sorry, she had plenty of character. She was very natural in this, as well as charismatic. Possibly her best role.
