The Great Train Trickery by Frankenheimer


It's a movie about art. Lancaster putting up a performance staging a fake series of towns - a real life film set.

Two men in denial. A nazi who is not nazi by heart in terms of the movie's theme - art. A frenchman with unclear motives. It's not war to them - it's about preserving art - a war of art and rivalry between two obsessed male characters. The painting is the woman subliminated - the desired object to kill or die for. Only they are dead objects.

Who else could pull this off - a Grand Prix of the art. A Seconds identity search of the war. Only Frankenheimer. Today it's called The Prestige by Nolan.
