Better than expected and positive aspects

As one reviewer wrote, this is a geezer western. But I think it is better than the reviewer thinks. As a second reviewer wrote...that person liked it for all the wrong reasons. I understand what that means because maybe I did also. But, I have to say...that was a very exciting and interestingly well-staged gunfight at the climax. Some work and thought went into that. Also, earlier in the film when the D. Andrews character is ambushed while on his horse that was a great stunt with the horse flipping over the Andrews character (I am sure it was really a stunt man.). In fact I wonder if that was partly a real accident that actually endangered the stunt person more than planned but was great for happening in front of a running camera. You will not see many stunts like that in B westerns and it was a small treat. Generally, I was entertained much more enjoyably by this film than I expected. If you like westerns and/or film nostalgia it is worth 90 minutes of time.

dana andrews was the most ineffectual actor of all time so i would have preferred a real town tamer type for the lead against this cast of heavies...
