Does the name mean den of vermin? As always, pretty sets and color in yet another Corman Poe film. One weakness of the Corman films, well not really a weakness, is that Vincent Price always plays sinister or mentally ill characters. Why not a strong character that has to make bad choices or face some evil? I understand he was very good at acting evil.
shareVerden is bad if that's the name meaning. But my chemistry teacher's called Wingfield. First name. I suppose the reason he plays those types of characters is because that's what Poe wrote. He's a great writer but that's his focus- probably because he was mentally ill and felt a bit sinister sometimes. In the Last Man on Earth Price is very good at facing evil and heartbreak.
"Of course it's me, who were you expecting?"
Price had a multitude of talent, but was understandably(all the way to the bank) typecast as a villain. Your Wingfield had no choice but to become either a scientist or a butler! :>)
