Vargas does not drink, smoke, or make love...
During Bond's daytime visit to Palmyra, Largo offers Bond and then Vargas a drink, then says, "But of course, Vargas does not drink, does not smoke...does not make love. What is it that you do, Vargas? Every man has his passion, mine is fishing!"
What is the deal with this scene? It would imply that Vargas' only passion is killing. Mr. Vargas looks down as if ashamed. It's really odd and stood out to me just now while revisiting Thunderball. Can anyone elaborate on what is going on with this little scene? Is this something from the novel?

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
