Why was Avro the bad guy ?

Avro created the Vulcan and the Canadian Avro Arrow among other planes. Any special reason why the film makers put Terry-Thomas who played the bad guy, in an Avro plane?

My accountant says, "1 + 1, 40% of the time, equals divorce".

There was no particular reason why Terry-Thomas' character flew an Avro aircraft. A. V. Roe just happened to be one of the manufacturers of the day, and likely one of their period aircraft was available, so someone got to use it.
