When I was a kid I would excitedly watch these movies

There were lots of them on TV, and looking back they were so bad but that's all that was out there. A lot of sci-fi movies copied or stole from these old movies.

I have to admit though after just going to IMDB to watch the trailer for this movie - the ship landing looked very close to the Nostromo landing on LV-whatever-it-was.

Also noticed the interior of the space ship was huge ... like the inside of a warehouse or something ... so much space.

And you may recall that in the weird planetscape there was a derelict spaceship with the skeletal remains of giant aliens. So, another Alien connection.
