POTV vs ALIEN ...

As similar as these two moves are, nowhere does is say that Scott had any influence from this movie to make Alien.

I don't know a lot about anything but I know a little about practically everything

The simmilarities are far too many to be co-incidence. Scott definitly saw this and It! in his youth. Both were regular features on our local Friday night horror show Hoolahan & Big Chuck/Big Chuck & Little John. Queen of Blood was another that showed fairly often. One can assume that was the case too wherever Scott lived.

Well the Spaceships are huge like the Nostromo in Alien .
That big Landing gear impressed Me when I was just a kid when I
saw it . Usually it just stock shots of V-2 rockets but not this .

Dan O'Bannon wrote Alien, and he openly admitted that he was influenced by PotV. In fact in his own words he "stole" from it. See the "Something Perfectly Disgusting" segment in the Alien Quadrilogy bonus features.

Alien is basically the same film but million times better as is It! The Terror from Beyond Space another film that inspired Alien
The Dalek films are also far superior -unless you are a Bava ass -kisser

I would tend to that the giant alien skeleton in POTV was of some influence on Scott perhaps a vague memory from having seen the film long ago.
