I Want More Mikey.

I find Mikey fascinating in a Tennessee Williams sort of way. His southern dandy persona combined with his never ending adoration for Jimmy begs for more elaboration and back story. I would love to see a film following Mikey through his adolescent and post-puberty struggles. Will he work in off Broadway theater? Does he end up turning tricks for West Virginian truckers? I want to know!

Oh, my. I fear the latter. I truly do.

I thought he was very funny. You didn't even need MST3K with that guy. HaHa!

There's something seriously wrong with that boy. I wouldn't have been surprised if he turned out to be the strangler.

Amazing boy, he made the movie. We need to have a movie about all the best MST movie characters thrown together. Mikey, Mitchell, Torgo, Mr. B Natural, Rowsdower... sorta like how Once Upon a Time does Disney characters. I'd watch it.

Wow, what a great idea! I'd watch it, too. I'm currently enjoying MST3K's skewering of "Teenage Strangler", as I type. Mikey was actually quite likable in this pile of celluloid dreck. He is the one and only true highlight, in my opinion. His acting efforts were commendable, unlike the other 'young' actors. The dad was a monstrous ogre every teen wants to rebel against, and the girlfriend utterly melodramatic in their respective roles, to put it mildly. All the fuss over a bike believed to be stolen, yet was only borrowed. Oh, the horror of it all! What will the neighbors think about our delinquent son? What's next, murder?!

One post claimed Mikey was the worst actor ever blah blah blah. For my money, the most irritating and awful child acting I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing was Jake Lloyd, as the very young Anakin Skywalker in "Phantom Menace". But I mostly blame George Lucas for inflicting the most bratty 9-year old boy so unbelievable in his role as to make one want to really throw rotten tomatoes at the movie screen. His casting must have been based solely on his appearance...yes, he looks like a 9-year old, but can he pass for one in a movie? Nope. Too much blame was placed on the poor kid. We all know George Lucas lost his way making Episode 1. Oh, let's not forget Jar-Jar Binks. Yikes!!
