Fox Movie Channel is showing it!

It's scheduled from 3:30 to 5 a.m. Central today on Fox Movie Channel, meaning that it likely will be showing up again from time to time. So, if anyone has FMC, there's still time to catch it! If you miss it... Well, I'm sure that won't be the only time it's offered.

EDIT: They'll show it from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central later this morning.

It's on right now, FMC 10-11:30. Love the hand written name tags. Especially the bizarre letter P in captain. And what was up with the head in the bowl?

I saw it today on the Fox Movie Channel. I hadn't even heard of the movie before I saw it.

I'd like to comment on one impression that others had that I don't think is correct.

They weren't hand-written titles and credits. They were standardized font letters. They look like stenciled letters on a clear piece of plastic. What was handled roughly, with noticeable jerks making it look like it was possibly done by hand) was the scrolling of the titles up and to the left of the screen. This was definitely an amateurish technique, looking precisely the way early '50s television show titles/credits were handled. That was shocking to me, since this movie came out in 1965, long after such things were perfected. This movie really did look as if it was made in the early '50s or even the '40s on the sort of grade 'Z' budgets that were given to many science fiction projects in that era.

I was refering to the name tags on their space outfits. They were horrible. I wish I hadn't deleted it from my dvr, because now I want to see what you meant about the titles.

It's coming to FMC again this Saturday at 5 AM and 1250 PM Central Time.

I definitely want to watch it again. By the third time, I've found so much to admire about it. It's a nifty little movie, more enjoyable than many of the CGI explosion-fests we're assaulted with nowadays. They need to clue in that, when everyone can do CGI, they're on even ground and need to start working on stories.

Thanks for the alert!

It was on yesterday at 3:30. I watch this thing every time it's on. I'm drawn to it now. Just wish more people would discuss this awe inspiring movie.

Darn! I got busy watching something else and forgot it, but I'm sure they'll be showing it again. I'm also on the watch for "Secret World".

I swear that next time it's on, I will tape it. They did an awful lot with an obviously low budget and put a lot of thought into details.

I have to get in the habit of checking the schedule.

Every time I watch this movie, I like it more! It does so much on a small budget, with some great ideas~from sleep learning and a holographic clown for the children to the notion of survival of the fittest no matter what.

It's wonderful seeing John Cairney in a major role. I've had such a crush on him since I was about 12 and saw "Jason and the Argonauts" at the drive-in. Sadly, I didn't get to see him very often till TCM and other stations began airing his films.

The man who allowed himself to be "mechanized" as the ship's brain: That is so creepy to me. He's so calm and collected (as they say), when most would be shrieking, "What was I thinking?!" (rather like Mercy fully realizing what the Cybermen has done to her on "Doctor Who".)
