grand kids stopped singing and touring a few years ago

They were the second son's great grandchildren , they were really popular around 2009-15. Beautiful voices, and from what I read, nice young people. They always dressed classy. According to an 2016 article they quit their musical careers to pursue other interests. Makes sense due to the fact they were getting older. maybe they were not fans of the celebrity life. They got their start singing Austrian folk songs taught to them by grandpa.
Kurt portrayed the grandpa. I read on YouTube he passed away years ago. I will have to research his name when I get the chance.

I read somewhere the three kids Maria had are still living, but their older siblings have all passed.

Are you talking about the 1st generation? I think maybe a few are still living.

My wife and I saw them perform with Pink Martini in southern California in 2013 and 2014. They were terrific. Sorry to hear they've retired.

I don't know much about them, I did not follow up on them when they were popular. Wow time flies, can't believe the second decade of 00's were almost a decade ago. It does appear they had an old school upbringing from the vibes I got from their interviews. The few I heard anyway. Which is a good thing. I always read they were polite and well mannered. Maybe they were unimpressed with the trappings of fame.

I like Pink Martini as well, cool chill out music.

I am listening to one of their CD's with Pink Martini now. " Dream A Little Dream. It came out in 2014.
