a very good western

I just watched this and had previously seen The Young Guns, also starring Russ Tamblyn. In both films, he plays the son of a gun fighter, but the plots diverge drastically from there. Both are good westerns, but son of a Gunfighter is in color and widescreen.

It's hard to beat those long shots of horse chases across the western landscape. I was pleasantly surprised with the imagination of the plot and was never disappointed in the writing. And Russ Tamblyn rarely disappoints.
