The Ending

Got called away from the TV and didn't see the ending.
I saw where Inga (Anne Bancroft) fell out of bed, while Alan (Sidney Poitier) is pleading her for her room number. Then, Mark, Inga's husband comes into the crisis center.
What happened after that?

reply

the police got into the room and the people where still on the phone and then the police asked who was on the phone and told them they found her
they didn't show whether she died or not

Hmmmm... They found her but didn't reveal if she was alive or not.
Quite an ending.
Thanks for the reply!!

I think it's safe to assume that she's alive ... or alive for the time being. Telly Salavas asks Newell if he'd like to meet her and Newell says no.

"FRA-GEE-LAY. That's Italian!"
"I think that says 'fragile', honey."

The best part of this movie is that if it happened today (in 2009), the entire movie would have lasted about 30 seconds. :) (Caller ID!)

Amazing movie, though. One of my favorites from Sydney Poitier.

Indeed. Caller ID and GPS has made these films impossible, but they've certainly saved lives in crisis. Bravo to Sydney Pollack and the excellent cast here for making a thrilling film where the lead actors never actually meet face to face. I'm giving this 8/10, but maybe when I watch it again I'll upgrade.

They said she was still breathing, and everyone is very happy. Everything points to the fact that she survived.

The thread stays intact.🐭
