Beware of dud copies!

I seem to be one of a few unfortunate people, as I've just read on amazon.com. Two guys, one American and one British, have bought this DVD but it didn't last long in their DVD players before the picture froze and no more movie. Well it has just happened to me too! Damn! Anyone else? I'm in London and must now wait over a week for my next copy. I have other Legend DVD's so it must be a bad batch or something.

Funny you should mention that. I have the Paramount VHS, which looks fine by the packaging but when I play the tape, it appears to be a bootleg. It's recorded at the slow speed, which is bad enough, but the picture "hiccups" repeatedly, as if it was recorded from a copy-guarded source.

I'm able to watch the whole film (which is very good, by the way), but the poor tape quality is very distracting. It has all the hallmarks of an "official" Paramount release by the packaging, but the quality of the VHS is shoddy.

Did you ever find a playable DVD, and has anyone else had the same problem with the Paramount VHS?

reply

I have both the DVD and the old tape release, both play fine, tho the tape is very poor quality.

The Blu-Ray is beautiful!
This film is GREAT! Gothic awesomeness!
I had this on vid tape in the 90's and it looked like garbage. This is the first time I've seen this great film in pristine clarity.
You've GOT to score it!

Trust me,

My, you're nosey, aren't you?
