The version I have (a torrent file I burned onto DVD) does not have this scene, but I could have sworn I have seen a version where the skull flies out of the cabinet that Peter Cushing had it in, thus breaking the glass. Has anybody else seen this version? And is this scene in the Blu_Ray version?

It happens several times. That absolutely made me cackle whenever it zoomed towards people! Overall, quite creepy though and a heck of a lot of fun!

shareThe whole flying skull thing is the main reason I remember this film. Must have seen this decades ago on TV. I also remember that despite the silliness of having a flying skull, this movie was oddly effective. Also, rather rarely shown for some reason. Possibly because it was Amicus? Just guessing here. Kinda nice to find out just now that this was from the mind of Robert Bloch; cool 😎
