Where is this water mill?

I read all 5 reviews and the two messages on the message board plus I checked the movie locations on the imdb (blank), but unfortunately the water mill is not mentioned at all.
Does anybody know where in England "Signpost to Murder" has been filmed?
Or was the water mill built up in the studio?

Same with the water mill in "All that Heaven allows (Rock Hudson), the location is neither listed in the imdb nor in the two books on Douglas Sirk that I have.

Would love to know!

It was actually built into the studio film set, just as Doyle's stage play has it built into the stage set. A real water mill couldn't be used, because of the effect of the wheel stopping and reversing on cue. A special wheel with "remote control" had to be constructed. The wheel remains one of the stage set builder's worst nightmares, along with Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors.

The movie was set in England but it wasn't filmed there. It was filmed at the MGM studios in Hollywood which have since been torn down. As for the water mill I watched SIGNPOST TO MURDER with a friend and he claimed it is the same water mill that was used in the 1948 version of THE THREE MUSKETEERS with Gene Kelly -
www.imdb.com/title/tt0040876/ I haven't seen it so I can't confirm but maybe someone who has can.
