the movie ended without resolving the issue of whether he would go back to his wife or with laura reynolds.

I hope he went with reynolds. They could just have lived in that little cabin for the rest of their days.

While I don't condone adultery, I somehow agree with him going back to Laura. Feel bad about it.

The kid was a very normal innocent kid.. did you even watch the movie?
If anything Rev could have been a father and teacher to him..

However, I loved that she included her son in the final painting that she was working on. That told me a lot about how she was changed by knowing him. I actually loved the ending. I enjoy stories that let you embroider the ending in your own imagination.
