Deserves Better

I'm thankful that this film is on DVD with subtitles at all but AnimEigo is a far cry from Criterion. The video and audio are certainly serviceable but nothing to get excited about. Criterion has done two Kihachi Okamoto films that I'm aware of: 'Kill!' and 'Sword of Doom.' Would it be asking too much to give 'Samurai' the Criterion treatment?

I second that.

I just finished watching it and a Criterion release would be a great thing.
Both 'Kill' and 'Sword of Doom' are of much higher quality...especially the video.
