Question about vhs vs TCM

I'm watching this film on TCM right now (9/6/08) and recording it to dvd. I saw this movie back in the day and the version I'm watching has the scene where the two ladies "behinds" are naked quickly cut. This isn't the way I remember it. Since TCM doesn't cut films (and as mild as this is I can't see why they would) is this a cut by MGM? Is the vhs tape the same? I haven't seen the tape. If the tape is a full shot of naked behinds I'm guessing the cuts came later and by who? Anyone know?

You may have seen the film when it first went into general release. I remember seeing it in the drive-in (second tier theatres), and the "behinds" were clearly covered by the hats.

When I first saw "The War Wagon," in an indoor theatre) Kirk Douglas' behind was part of the gag. However, the scene was edited by the time it reached home video. Also, when "North to Alaska," Capucine is clearly topless under the bubble bath (we see a "slip" when she is handling Clancy (the dog). However, in all subsequent copies I've seen, the offending shot has been "masked."

I'm watching it now on TCM and the ladies' pretty behinds were censored out with black bars. Maybe because they are showing it in the day time.
