on the flipside, I certainly would imagine that
John Carpenter was influenced by this in making
Halloween (as well as Hitchcock, of course).

I'm trying to find Dementia; from the description - a woman's descent into madness during one night - it looks like a forerunner of Repulsion.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

Cocteau's "Beauty and the Beast" (the arms coming out of the walls)

Possibly "The Wind" where a repressed Lillian Gish kills a man and goes crazy when the wind uncovers his buried corpse.
