I had lunch in The Hoop and Toy this month.......

It's still recognizable from REPULSION.

And they do a very nice fish and chip meal!

Dino's Restaurant is one street from there and now known as Muriel's Kitchen, while the Beauty Salon Carol works in is still there just a few doors down from The Hoop and Toy.

All in all, South Kensington is still a lot like we see it in 1965.

And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

I really enjoyed seeing how South Kensington looked in the 1960s, and was rather amused when Carol gets a lift home, even though it's only around the corner (creative geography I think it's called in film terms). I did think it would be very unsettling to be watching this film and realise that you live in her apartment! I assume some of it was real and not a set.
