ive recently become a fan of rasputin and everything about him...but ive always wanted to see something that plays as more of a horror story based around him...is that what this movie is?

Been awhile since I watched it but yeah here he is depicted as more like some evil monster than in the other Rasputin movie I saw. This one was made in 1966, the other one in 1996. The latter displays him with more complexity, this is more Rasuptin as evil type film if that's what your looking for. Just look at the trailer!- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6pyTGWaq08

No, it is not a horror movie, but you could say it's a thriller. The film does contain elements of suspense.

While it's not technically a horror movie, if one is a fan of atmosphere that the Hammer films provided in the 1960s, then those type of horror fans will certainly enjoy it.

No it isn't, its a Thriller/Drama.

It's not a horror movie, but since Hammer was known for horror they put in the hand chopping and the acid to the face to keep up with the Hammer "tradition".
