[Film Club] Can this be regarded as a remake of Dreyer's film?

I think so. It starts the same way, proclaiming that it is going to use the official documents. It has some almost identical shots; two things come to mind, the man in white who helps Joan (he is on her right side in both films and acts the same way) and the guards in her cell look very much like the ones in Dreyer's film. It even has the threat of torture, which is actually not in the court papers, and which Dreyer made up.
