Shelly Winters and the Oscar

I've got to wonder -- how many other Oscars were won playing characters as despicable as Rose Ann? There was absolutely nothing likable about her (as Ole Pa calls her "black hearted bxxxch")

Monique for Precious comes to mind.

Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood"?

My favorite scene is when she slaps her daughter and then gets slapped back. She deserved that and so much more.

No mention of Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter? Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes?

I'm pretty sure that is why Shelly got the Oscar ---- The role was such a self centered beeatch--- 100% different than Shelly, and she played perfectly
