Important scenes cut (spoiler)

Prior to the scene where Casio is wounded, Desdemona and Emilia have a philosophical discussion about what would motivate a woman to be unfaithful to her husband. This scene was cut. This was serious mistake because it diminishes both women, who are very strong characters, more grounded, and more morally balanced than the men in the play. It flattens and simplifies the play to make it all about Othello and Iago, when a very important theme of the play is Desdemona's desire to be her own person and make her own decisions.

It was in the stage version of this production. I used to have it on LP.
