Was this intended for TV???

I saw this film a long time ago on Tv and got the impression this was a TV movie or an unsold pilot. Upon checking out the crew on IMDB it was comprised of a lot of people who worked mostly in TV. Was this made for Tv and then sold to theaters instead or is the IMDB wrong about this being a theatrical release???

Don't really know a definative answer to your question, but I saw this film in the Center Theater on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, sometime in 1965.

I remember liking Burt Reynolds in the movie, and being kind of proud of the role he played as an American "secret agent," since the James Bond phenomenon was so pervasive world-wide at the time.

The film seems to have been specifically composed for a 1.85 : 1 ratio - as opposed to having been composed in 1.33 which was the TV ratio at the time - so I would say that it was intended as a theatrical feature.
