First 'high five' ?

I remember 'slap me five' back in the mid 60s but am thinking the 'high five' came along much later. In this flick, just before they go their separate ways, (after the job) Eddie slaps his brother the ol' high 5.
I was a kid in the 60s and like many kids from any given generation, they're not aware that certain things/conventions, whatever, went on in prior generations ... Maybe I'm mistaken here and this was around decades prior ?

First time I have ever noticed it, also. They did it several times, and after the hand slap, they kissed their fingers on the same hand and then opened them.

I wouldn't be surprised if this movie was the first to high five. It seems quite innovative in some ways the way it portrayed characters.
